F rom Bethlehem to Bethany or The Story of a Sinless Life by Warren R. Fitch. (Syracuse, NY: The Mason Press, [n.d.], 178 pp.) Reverend Warren Rudolphus Fitch (1836-1917), No. 4504, was an ordained Methodist minister at Brier Hill, St. Lawrence Co., NY. He was also a merchant, Justice of the Peace, Town Supervisor, and Postmaster there. In 1873, he moved to Lowville in Lewis Co., NY, where he became editor and publisher of the Lowville Times .

The undated volume shown here contains a single poem in 26 parts, running 178 pages. It tells the life story of Jesus, beginning with an "Invocation:"

Awake O Muse! With holy rapture sing
Of Him who came to Bethlehem a King;

And ends with:

Rejoice, O Bethlehem! now that you see
Him, glory crowned, ascend from Bethany.
